Training Clinics

NCAA/PAVO Clinics are partially funded by a grant from the NCAA, and are primarily intended to prepare officials for the upcoming women's collegiate season. All volleyball officials are invited to attend. The agenda items include the new NCAA rules, new techniques and protocols, professionalism, and other areas of emphasis. Most conferences and assignors highly recommend clinic attendance as a preparatory step for officiating in the upcoming season. The NCAA considers clinic attendance as criterion for post-season officiating selections. Registration online is highly recommended, and is easily done on the PAVO E-Store - just click on the tab above.  For those who pre-register online, the PAVO 2014 portion of the clinic fees is indicated in the table below. As always, local clinic hosts may charge an additional amount for local expenses (copies, facility, etc.).  The amount due to PAVO plus the local clinic fee will be collected when you pre-register online with a credit card.

You must register online by 11pm CST on the Tuesday before the clinic date. If you miss the pre-registration deadline, you may attempt to attend the clinic of your choice as a walk-in.  However, clinics are not required to accommodate attendees who are not pre-registered, and will do so on a space-available basis only.  A walk-in fee of $50 will be charged in addition to the PAVO clinic fee and local clinic fee.   As a courtesy, if you miss the pre-registration deadline, please contact the host directly to notify them that you plan to walk-in, so that they can plan accordingly. Registration will begin on July 1.

Please contact the host directly if you have any other questions.

If you do not have a credit card, or do not have Internet access, please call the PAVO central office (888/791-2074) to pre-register for the clinic of your choice.

The 2014 registration fees, payable to PAVO, are:

Non-collegiate referee             $30 + local charges

Women's collegiate referee    $75 + local charge

Walk-In (Not pre-registered-Payable at the door)

Current PAVO Member             $75 + local charges

Non-collegiate referee              $80 + local charges

*To register for a clinic at the PAVO member rate, your 2014 PAVO dues must have been received in the PAVO central office, and you must have accepted the PAVO Conditions of Membership, the general waiver, and the media release.

PAVO will accommodate boards and conferences that pay the clinic registration fees for the individuals on their roster. If your board chair or conference coordinator has informed PAVO that s/he is responsible for your clinic registration fee, you will see a prepaid "voucher" in the system which will reflect that responsibility. Even if a third-party is paying your registration fee, you must pre-register online to avoid the $50 surcharge!!

Make your plans now and come join us for the latest on rules, techniques and other information for self-improvement as an officiating professional!
