CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR SPRING 2008
The PAVO Officials Training Camps have been highly successful in the past few years, helping to develop the quantity and quality of the cadre of officials in several areas. There are usually several scholarships available to help deserving officials with their camp expenses - usually the registration fee is covered in full. The PAVO Board of Directors has allocated $250 for this purpose, and some of the Division I conferences and NAGWS have also provided scholarships in the past. Applications for these will be accepted through March 15, 2008.
Any PAVO member in good standing may apply for the PAVO or NAGWS scholarships. To apply, please follow this procedure:
- Submit a letter of interest, giving your name, address, home and work phones, e-mail address, and the name of the PAVO board you belong to.
- Write a short personal essay explaining your officiating achievements, officiating goals, your personal motivation for officiating, and why you feel you would be a good scholarship recipient.
- Include one letter of recommendation from your Board Chair, a PAVO National official, or a Conference Coordinator.
*NOTE: You MUST register and pay for a camp in order to apply for a scholarship. Any scholarship application that is received without a specific camp registration will not be accepted. If you are not selected as a scholarship recipient and then withdraw from the camp, the refund policy applies. The refund policy states that any paid registrant who withdraws from a camp will only receive a 100% refund if PAVO is able to find a replacement camper for that spot. If no replacement camper can be found, you will receive a 50% refund, and the other 50% of the paid fee can be applied to a future camp, dependent on availability.
