PAVO Volleyball Official’s Guidebook

The PAVO Volleyball Official's Guidebook includes invaluable information for volleyball referees, line judges and scorekeepers, including a complete casebook, comparisons with USAV and NFHS rules, information on official's certifications, and chapters on the mechanics and techniques for all officials.  All well-equipped officials will own this book as a complement to the rule book.

This valuable publication is published every other year in even-numbered years.  In odd-numbered years, a "supplement" is published with updated text, corrections, rule and technique changes, and an current-season practice examination.   

The 2007 Guidebook Supplement is available by clicking one of the links below.  However, the supplement is only useful when used in conjunction with the 2006 PAVO Official's Guidebook.  The 2006 PAVO Volleyball Official's Guidebook is still available for purchase.  Go to the PAVO E-store or call 888/791-2074.  For the first time, the supplement is now available in either letter-size format (8.5 x 11) or in booklet format (sized to match the 2006 PAVO Official's Guidebook.  To print out the booklet form of the supplement, please follow these instructions:

1.  Download and print 2007_Supplement_Booklet1.pdf.
2.  Place the printed pages back in the printer's paper tray.  You may have to experiment with your printer regarding whether the pages should be placed face-up or face-down so that the second pass prints on the blank side.   Also, please note that the booklet format prints much slower than the letter-size format.
3.  Download and print 2007_Supplement_Booklet2.pdf.
4.  The Booklet2 pages will print on the back of the Booklet1 pages.
5.  Remove the printed pages and fold them in half to create a booklet.  The booklet pages should appear in the correct page-numbered order.

Fundamental Scorekeeper Training

PAVO now offers a free power point presentation that provides basic instruction on completing an NCAA scoresheet and libero tracking sheet. The presentation has been updated to include new rules that affect the scorekeeper(s) for 2006. 

Schools, conferences and local PAVO boards who help with basic training should utilize this new tool. NOTE: Reviewing this power point presentation does NOT fulfill the certification requirement of attending a scorekeeper's clinic, but is intended for fundamental instruction only. 2007 NCAA Rule Changes

A summary of the major rule changes can be found by clicking Current Season, then Current Rule Changes at the top of the website. Of course, to fully understand the implementation of these, and to get the complete information on all changes, you'll want to attend an OTP Clinic as part of your season preparation. 2007 Publications Updates

NCAA Women's Volleyball Rulebook - Copies of the rulebook will be available around July 1. Order by calling 888/388-9748 or via the NCAA website (http://ncaa.sportgraphics.biz/index.asp?cmd=showcategory¶m_0=6).

2007 NCAA Scoresheets, Line-up Sheets & Libero Tracking Sheets

The NCAA develops scoresheets, line-up sheets and libero tracking sheets that accommodate all recent rules and techniques.  There were no changes made to the scorekeeping materials for 2007 - the 2006 versions are the most current.  Click here to download these .pdf files, free of charge.
